Multifocal lenses provide a great boost in reading ability and use a prgressive type of reading add power. Bifocal lenses are usually made of gas permeable materials and look similar to the ben franklin eyeglasses (only much smaller). They have a distinct line between the distance and near portion of the lens. Bifocal lenses take precision and expertise to fit properly.
